Here is where you can get an in-depth look at the individual cats that we have encountered in the course of out work at Khao Sam Roi Yod National Park. Each has a unique natural history that is slowly being revealed to us through local reports, sign surveys, camera trapping, telemetry, genetic analysis, and other types of survey and analysis work.
To read about individual cats, just click on the links to the right. The second through sixth cats on the list (Namchaa through Pepsi) have collars and are actively being tracked on a daily basis.
The map below shows our two distinct study "zones" characterized by very different landuse and landcover patterns. Outside the park is a crescent of very productive land that is primarily under rice cultivation for much of the year. Just inside the park to the east is a sliver of lowland under intensive mangrove restoration. Also shown on the map are some of the landmarks mentioned in the cat descriptions. We will be posting some explicit range data in the coming weeks.
