Namchaa was the first female to recieve a radio collar. She was captured on Feb 18 around the Na Jong area (Northern edge of the "Rice Field Zone".
Namchaa was not yet a year old when we captured her. She weighed 7.75 kilograms and had not yet had kittens.
We now have several months of locations for Namchaa and find that she likes to take shelter around Uncle Pia's fish pond area, perhaps the most resource rich area in this whole end of the park that is frequently visited by at least 4 of the area's cats. The owner of the land where she spends much of her time has been wonderfully cooperative to let us freely take locations on his land and we are hopeful that he is becoming one of the community's importantly outspoken advocates of fishing cat conservation.
